Who are we?

As the name suggests, ASHRAY- MAZE GHAR believes in taking life long responsibility of specially abled adults. They deserve it the most but do not have access to happiness in their lives. We aim to create a sustainable impact in the lives of the specially abled adults by developing strong programs focussed on their upbringing and surrounding. We feel that these individuals are ignored by their families and their mental health may affect their livelihood. Our main aim, as an organisation, is to expose our gems to the world and make them independent, both mentally and financially.

Activities

We at ASHRAY-MAZE GHAR believe that upbringing makes up the most important aspect in a differently abled’s life. Most of the time, specially abled miss out on key aspects of their life which ends up steering their future towards the wrong side of the spectrum. ASHRAY-MAZE GHAR is Keshavsmruti Pratishthan’s initiative to cater to the holistic development of these gems, bringing focus on their independence, enhancing their skills and providing mental health care through a customised experiential learning curriculum.

We at ASHRAY-MAZE GHAR, believe that everything we do has some effect, some impact in this world. While we cannot measure the infinite smiles we hope to bring about in the world someday, these are a few ripples of change we created in 2018-2019.

आश्रय माझे घर या संस्थेची ओळख आम्हाला टीव्हीवरील बातमीने झाली. यापूर्वी विवेक घरी खूप चिडचिड करायचा. या संस्थेत प्रवेश घेतल्यापासून त्याच्यात खूप फरक पडला. या संस्थेमुळे मुलांना आई-वडिलांची माया कळते हे आम्हाला तुमच्या मायेवरून कळते व आमचा मनापासून विश्वास बसल्यामुळे आम्ही विवेकला आपल्या संस्थेत प्रवेश घेण्याचा निर्णय घेतला. आमचा विवेक आयुष्यभर तुमच्या मायेच्या सावलीत राहील ही आमची अपेक्षा पूर्ण झाल्या सारखे वाटते आमच्या कोणत्याही नातेवाईकांपेक्षा आश्रय विवेकला मायेने आणि प्रेमाने सांभाळेल याची आई-वडील म्हणून आम्हाला अपेक्षा आहे.

आमचा आदित्य गेल्या दोन वर्षापासून आपल्याकडे डे-केअरला येत आहे. संस्थेत प्रवेश घेतल्यापासून त्याच्यात खूप प्रगती झाली आहे तेथे साजरे होणारे सण, खेळ, खाऊ अशा वातावरणामुळे त्याला घरी यावे असे वाटतच नाही. सुट्टीच्या दिवशी देखील तो आश्रयाला जाण्याचा हट्ट करतो. आश्रयाला जायला लागल्यापासून त्याचा घरी देखील त्रास कमी झाला आहे त्यामुळे आम्ही आश्रयचे आभारी आहोत.

बऱ्याच संस्था पाहूनही आम्हाला घरासारखे सांभाळणारी संस्था मिळत नव्हती. परंतु आश्रयला प्रवेश घेतल्यावर आमचा शोध संपला आणि शुभमला रमलेला पाहून आम्ही समाधानी झालो. दिवाळीनिमित्त त्याला घरी नेल्यावर त्याच्या वर्तणुकीत आम्हाला बरेच सकारात्मक बदल जाणवले. संस्थेत मुलांना खूप चांगल्या प्रकारे नुसते न सांभाळता त्यांना चांगल्या सवयी लावल्या जातात हे दिसून आले. कारण शिक्षण, प्रशिक्षण, स्वावलंबन हे सर्व त्यांची मानसिकता विचारात घेऊन करणे हे घरी शक्य होत नाही. त्यामुळे येथे राहून निश्चितच त्याची चांगली प्रगती होईल याचा आम्हाला विश्वास आहे.
